What We Work For
CSSP’s policy work is aimed at advancing equity, increasing opportunities for families and communities with low incomes, and promoting child and family well-being.
We do this because in the U.S. today, current public policies are often not crafted with all families in mind. As such, these policies can create barriers for communities of color, immigrant families, and people who identify as LGBTQ+, the impact which is ultimately detrimental to child and family well-being.
How We Do It
In partnership with public systems and communities, we develop bold solutions that are responsive to what children and families need and that are driven by the work we do in the field. We are committed, through our policy work, to creating inclusive and thriving communities for every family and we work to advance policy ideas at the federal, state, and local level that create opportunities for children and families, and that advance equity and promote well-being. We consistently fight against policy proposals that undermine rights and erode basic supports for families, and we always support and advance policy ideas that are grounded in inclusivity and equity.
We hope that our work will help families of color, people who identify as LGBTQ+, and immigrant families have more opportunities, and be healthier and happier.
