What We Work For

Each of us needs care at different points in our lives.

Responsive, nurturing care promotes our personal well-being and providing this care is essential work that enables society to function.

Impact

Results and Desired Outcomes

It is our hope that by recognizing and investing in the full continuum of caregiving, young children and others who need care, as well as the caregivers do who this critical work, will be able to meet their needs, fully participate in their communities, and achieve the goals they set for themselves—so that together we can all thrive.

Process

How We Do It

In partnership with parents, caregivers, and providers in the care workforce, we work to:

Identify and co-develop innovative policy solutions that value and support caregiving. These policy solutions ensure that all families have choices about who provides care for their loved ones, and that caregivers inside and outside the formal care workforce are paid adequately for the essential work that they do.

Build the capacity of parents and caregivers and nurture partnerships to advance policies that support caregiving at the local, state, and national level.

Shift the narrative around care to recognize the caregiving work that Black, Latine, Indigenous, Asian American Pacific Islander, and immigrant women do and lay the groundwork for transformational change.
