Advancing economic and racial justice through a guaranteed income for kids
The aim of this work is to drastically change the systemic challenges that youth—specifically older or “transition-age” youth (TAY) of color—who are or have been involved with the foster care system experience.
We work to advance an anti-racist, inclusive child allowance—or a guaranteed minimum income—for families with children.
Parenting students’ struggles to navigate a wide range of public systems, including public assistance, higher education, child care, immigration, and housing, shed light on these systemic failings, and how policies and systems can be transformed to work better for all families with low incomes. We work to advance supports for parenting students and to promote broad public system reform to work better for families with low incomes.
The getREAL (Recognize. Engage. Affirm. Love) initiative is committed to promoting the healthy development of LGTBQ+ and gender expansive young people through collaboration and support of the communities in which these young people live, and the breaking down and reimagining of systems that perpetuate harm on young people
As monitors appointed by the federal court system or by parties to a legally binding agreement, we independently assesses child welfare systems and whether and how they meet required performance measures and outcomes.
