Biography
Alyssa Liehr is a Senior Policy Analyst at CSSP. As part of the Litigation & Monitoring team, she analyzes quantitative and qualitative data, reviews case practice and policy, coordinates with agency partners and stakeholders, and supports the development of equity-focused findings and recommendations. Alyssa also collaborates with CSSP’s Family Autonomy and Child Welfare Policy team on projects aimed at advancing anti-racist policy and practice and reducing harmful system involvement.
Prior to joining CSSP, Alyssa was a Research Scientist at Child Trends, where her work centered on the experiences of older youth in foster care, leveraging child welfare administrative data, and youth engagement in research. She conducted mixed-methods analyses, managed large administrative child welfare datasets, provided evaluation technical assistance, and oversaw youth engagement strategies. Alyssa’s broader interests include systems reform, community-engaged research approaches, and strengthening the role of lived expertise in transforming public systems.
Alyssa holds a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she was a Bloomberg Fellow in Adolescent Health. She also earned a BS in Neuroscience and Public Health from Tulane University.
