Biography

Danielle Sherman is a Senior Program Analyst on the Capacity Building and Leadership Development Team at the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP). In her role, Danielle focuses on building the capacity and leadership skills of leaders and staff in state and local government agencies, philanthropy, public systems, and community-based organizations to implement strategies that advance racial justice through their work. She mainly does this through training, one-on-one and group coaching, strategic planning support, and the development of resources that support these leaders in advancing organizational racial equity. Before coming to CSSP, Mrs. Sherman gained experience in managing place-based/built environment projects that focused on creating equitable systems change across various organizations such as the North Carolina Division of Public Health (which was a partnership between the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the North Carolina Division of Public Health), Healthy Places By Design, Safe Routes to Parks, and Sexual Health Initiatives for Teens (SHIFT NC). She also completed a two-year Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Public Health Prevention Services Fellowship.

Mrs. Sherman is an Annie E. Casey Foundation Results Count Practitioner. She previously served as a board member and membership chair for Raleigh Organizing Against Racism.
