Biography

Shira Davidson is a policy analyst on the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) Monitoring Team. In her role, she supports the team blending quantitative data with experiences of practitioners, youth, families and communities; she draws on her years of experience conducting research, navigating policy at multiple levels of government, and studying the intersections of child welfare, criminal justice, education and economic development. Working across all of the Monitoring Team cases, Shira implements project management strategies and aids in the creation of new working systems for the team. Previously, Shira has led technical assistance projects in youth workforce development and has supported coalition-building among child welfare and education policy organizations nationally and juvenile justice advocates locally in DC.

Outside of work, Shira is very active in local DC policy and community organizing, supporting initiatives focused on community development, racial and economic equity, and upstream investments. She stays connected to youth by teaching 7th and 8th graders at her local temple.
