The Parent Leader Network (PLN) provides a space for parents in EC-LINC communities to collaborate with and support each other, represent the parent perspective, and advocate for parent voice and leadership in early childhood systems.
Huong Vu is a member of the Parent Leader Network. She attended the National League of Cities’ Congressional City Conference held on March 26-28, 2022 in Washington, D.C. During the conference Huong was interviewed as part of the Early Learning Nation studio project.
Strong communities begin with strong families. For many new parents, the challenges of parenting can be daunting. As Huong Vu, Family Engagement Specialist at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester (MA), explains, the group helps parents recognize that they “should be valued as the first teacher of the child and the expert in their own life.”
